About me

HI! I’m Juli.

An Educational Psychologist, a wife, an avid baker, and someone who is deeply interested in how people navigate life’s unexpected twists and turns and how these experiences can continue to shape us long after they’ve passed.

My path into this field wasn’t entirely linear. I initially set out to become a teacher, but during high school I was introduced to Educational Psychology and something clicked. What began as curiosity quickly became a clear sense of direction.

I went on to complete my undergraduate degree in Education, followed by my Honours and Master’s degrees in Educational Psychology.

Over time, my work has been shaped by a growing awareness that language doesn’t always fully capture our experiences. We cannot always explain, or even consciously make sense of, what we’ve been through. And yet, we adapt. We develop ways of coping that serve to protect us, guided by our nervous system’s fundamental role of keeping us safe.

If this can feel complex as adults, it is often even more so for children.

This understanding led me to train as a Level 1 Teddy Bear Therapy practitioner, creating a space where children can express themselves in ways that feel safe, indirect, and non-threatening. I have also pursued additional training in creative therapeutic interventions to support expression beyond words.

Similarly, in working with adolescents and adults, I have seen how often people are expected to simply “carry on,” without fully recognising the impact that ongoing stress and past experiences can have on their emotional wellbeing and nervous system. This led me to complete Level 1 training in the Interactional Brain-Based Approach (IBBA), allowing me to support clients in ways that remain effective when language reaches its limits.

Alongside my private work, I practice within the public schooling system. This allows me to see, first-hand, the very real pressures faced by children, parents, and teachers, and has shaped my passion for offering practical, accessible, and meaningful support within these spaces.
